STORY
The Leadville 100 “Race Across the Sky” is one of the most storied ultramarathons on Earth — a brutal 100-mile test across the mountains of Colorado with over 18,000 feet of elevation gain and a summit at 12,600 feet. This film follows Dan Churchill, an Australian-born performance chef and endurance athlete, on his journey of redemption after a 2023 injury forced him to drop out of the race. A year later, he returns to Leadville stronger, sharper, and determined to finish what he started — pushing his body and mind to their absolute limits.

APPROACH
Through immersive cinematography and intimate storytelling, the documentary captures every stage of Dan’s journey — from the months of grueling training and mental preparation to the electric energy of race day in Leadville. The film blends raw endurance footage, sweeping aerials, and reflective personal moments to convey both the physical and emotional magnitude of running 100 miles through the Rockies.

IMPACT

Beyond the finish line, this story shines a light on the universal themes of resilience, failure, and growth. It celebrates the spirit of the Leadville community and the unwavering human drive to overcome 100 miles of pain and mental and physical exhaustion. Leadville 100 - Dan’s Redemption stands as a testament to grit, redemption, and human endurance.
